There are two ways people use AI right now. The first way is lazy: "Write me a blog about marketing." This results in garbage. The second way is strategic: using AI as a research assistant and structural engineer. The future of writing is not Human vs. AI. It is the Human-AI Hybrid.
- The Intern: Treat AI like a brilliant but drunk intern. It works fast, but you must check its facts.
- The "Average" Trap: LLMs predict the most likely word. This means they are mathematically designed to be boring.
- The Solution: The "Sandwich Method." Human Strategy -> AI Draft -> Human Edit.
- The Risk: Hallucinations. AI will lie to you with total confidence.
1. The "Average" Trap
Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT work by predicting the next word in a sentence based on the average of the internet. Think about that. The average of the internet is mediocre.
If you ask AI to write an article, it will give you the most safe, generic, vanilla answer possible. It cannot have an opinion. It cannot have "Taste." It can only mimic what has already been written. Your job is to inject the Spike—the unique insight that AI cannot predict.
2. The Hybrid Workflow
Stop trying to get AI to do 100% of the work. Aim for 80%. Here is how the labor is divided.
AI is great at brainstorming. Ask it: "Give me 20 counter-intuitive angles on the real estate market." It will give you 19 bad ones and 1 genius one.
Writers block usually happens because you don't have a structure. Ask AI to "Create a detailed outline for a 1,000-word article." Now you have a map.
Let AI generate the bulk text. It will be dry. It will use words like "unleash" and "landscape." That is fine. It is just clay for you to sculpt.
This is where the magic happens. You must remove the robot words. You must add personal stories ("I once saw..."). You must verify the stats.
3. Identifying "GPT-Speak"
Readers are getting smart. They can smell AI writing from a mile away. If you publish content that sounds like a robot, you lose trust instantly.
The Banned Word List:
- "In today's digital landscape..." (Delete this immediately).
- "Unlock the power of..." (Cliché).
- "Elevate your business..." (Vague).
- "It is important to note..." (Passive).
If you see these phrases, rewrite them. Be punchy. Be direct.
Google does not penalize AI content; it penalizes BAD content. If you churn out 1,000 AI articles that add no new value, Google will de-index your site as "Spam." Quality is the only ranking factor that matters.
4. The "Humanizer" Checklist
Before you hit publish, ensure you have added the human element:
