Bangladesh is one of the world's largest hubs for web development, and that fact cuts both ways: prices are among the lowest anywhere on the planet, and quality swings wildly from excellent to unusable. Here are honest ranges in Taka — and the catch nobody mentions.
- Basic / brochure site: roughly Tk 15,000–50,000 (about $150–450).
- Business website: roughly Tk 50,000–2,00,000 (about $450–1,800).
- Custom / e-commerce: Tk 2,00,000 and up (about $1,800+).
- The catch: the cheapest quote often means a locked template you don't own.
1. The Honest Taka Ranges
A simple brochure site from a freelancer typically lands between Tk 15,000 and Tk 50,000. A properly built business website with custom design usually runs Tk 50,000 to Tk 2,00,000. Anything with online payments, inventory or custom features starts around Tk 2,00,000 and climbs. International clients are often quoted in US dollars instead, which is why the same work can look priced very differently.
2. Why Prices Are So Low Here
It's simple economics: a massive pool of skilled developers, a lower cost of living, and intense competition push prices down. That's a genuine advantage — you can get strong value. But "cheap" and "good" are not the same thing, and the gap between a Tk 5,000 site and a Tk 50,000 site is usually enormous.
3. The Real Risk: You Get What You Brief
Many cheap sites are locked templates on hosting you don't control. Always confirm you own the code, domain and hosting.
A beautiful site nobody can find is worthless. Cheap builds often skip the on-page SEO that lets Google rank you.
Most of your visitors are on phones. Confirm the site is built mobile-first and loads fast on mobile data.
The cheapest providers often vanish after payment. Agree support and edits in writing before you start.
In Bangladesh, a vague brief gets you a vague website. Spell out pages, features, who writes the content, and who owns everything. Clarity up front is the single best protection against a cheap result.
